Great Clearing (Understory)

The Great Clearing was an era of widespread devastation to the Forest of Understory. The ancient canopy was completely cleared away, leaving large empty fields of tough grass exposed to the bare sky. Unable to survive in such harsh conditions, many species of the Old Forest were lost, including the wolves and the great beavers. Scarwalls, strange structures of piled stone, began to line the land in unnatural geometric figures.
